It is no secret to us that the members of our staffs provide invaluable and often underappreciated services to our campuses. They work hard each and every day to make our campuses safe, and our Association takes great pride in being able to recognize officers who have performed exceptionally through the NCACLEA Awards Program. Recommendations must be submitted each year by a member police chief, security director or other university official by November 30th.
Act or acts that are above and beyond the call of duty requiring personal physical risk, heroism or prevented loss of life. The act should have been in the behalf of the university community or the university. This is a non-competitive award (more than one may be awarded per year).
An act that is above the normal call of duty for the prevention of a single or multiple loss of life. The act should include exceptional actions that prevented the loss of life or further loss of lives. Personal risk of life should be nominated as Valor (above). The act should have been in the behalf of the university community. This is a non-competitive award (more than one may be awarded per year).
For outstanding service including: advancing campus law enforcement; imaginative approaches to improving service; improved community/police relations; innovative investigations; improved use of resources; innovative crime prevention, etc. This is a competitive award (one per year).
